RIDGID just released their 21-Degree 3-1/2 in. Round-Head Framing Nailer, and it is blazing fast! (R350RHF)

RIDGID recently released their new 3-1/2 in. Round-Head Framing Nailer with Magnesium Metal Housing. They claim that this nailer is the fastest in its class at eight (8) nails per second compared to competitors' three nails per second. I will have to say, I agree with that statement.

The nailer offers the user two different setting. The first is an automatic which will fire one nail after another simply by holding down the trigger and making contact with the wood. The second mode is single shot which will fire one nail at a time for a more controlled application. This is also known as (contact and sequential firing modes). It’s very easy to select between the two modes as you simply depress and turn a knob.

On the rapid fire option, I was able to fire
one nail after another without any hesitation from the gun, and absolutely no issue with jamming. You can also adjust the depth that you would like to sink the nail simply but adjusting the depth adjustment knob.

As for build, RIDGID spared no expense as they added a Magnesium metal housing that really helps minimize the weight of this nailer, but still allows it to take a heavy beating on any job-site.  They also added a swivel connect (I love those), no mar pads, oil and a wrench.

Two other features that I really liked about this nailer is the Rear-loading magazine with bypass pusher for quick, 2-step reloading. It allows you to reload extremely fast to stay on the job with less downtime, and its very simple to use. The other is the toe-nailing claw that helps keep the nailer from slipping during angled nailing.

Some of the other features this has to offer:

  • Magnesium metal housing provides lightweight and durable construction
  • Tool-free selectable trigger lets you conveniently and quickly change between contact and sequential firing modes
  • Rear-loading magazine with bypass pusher for quick, 2-step reloading
  • Powerful motor can drive 3-1/2 in. by 0.148
in. framing nails (16d common) into the hardest engineered lumbers
  • Dry-fire lockout extends the motor life, prevents misfires and prevents marring of the work surface
  • Over-molded handle and trigger: rubber over-mold interlocks with the metal housing for maximum durability and prevents the grip from twisting
  • Exhaust diffuser with muffler automatically directs exhaust away from user
  • Tool-free jam clearing door provides easy access to clearing infrequent jams
  • Aggressive "toe-nailing" claw reduces slipping during angled nailing
  • No-mar pad keeps work surface clean of tool marks

Warranty: Backed by the RIDGID Lifetime Service Agreement with registration, you can receive free O-rings, free piston stops and free driver blades for life.

All in all, it’s a fantastic nailer, and I never used one that was so efficient at doing it’s job. Well done on this one RIDGID!
