Dremel Go Cordless Screwdriver Review! (GO-01)

Dremel Go (Model# GO-01)

Ever buy a tool and say to yourself, “how did I ever live without this?” Well, the Dremel Go cordless screwdriver…

Ever buy a tool and say to yourself, “how did I ever live without this?” Well, the Dremel Go cordless screwdriver is one of those tools. I have been using this screwdriver around the hose so much, I actually forgot what it was like to not have one.

The Dremel Go is a cordless screwdriver that uses a USB charger for fast and convenient charging. It also offers an overdrive control to help prevent stripping the screw or splitting material. What I really like about the USB charging is that you won't be tossing batteries out every other day after long periods of use. Simply plug it into you basic 110 electrical outlet, and it has a full charge in about 40 minutes. When the unit is done charging, I was able to get a good deal of run-time out of it before needing another charge (about 45 minutes of constant, heavy use)

One of my favorite parts of the Dremel go is the convenience it offers me when dealing with a lot of screws. For example, I had to tear apart my dish washer the other day to replace a flow valve. When I took of the cover, I seen about 30 different screws that needed removed (What a nightmare!) I actually started removing them with my regular Phillips head, when I remembered I had this out in the garage. I ran out and grabbed it, and had all screws removed in under 3 minutes. I would have taken me 30 minutes with a regular screwdriver. Not only was it fast and easy to use, it was more than powerful enough to remove the most stubborn screws.

Another nice addition to this driver is that you can use it in forward or revers simply by flipping a switch next to your thumb. It also has a speed adjustment knob that allows the user to run this very slowly. This helps the user avoid causing damage to smaller, more fragile parts/items.

Issues:

One issue that I had with this driver is that you need to push down on the driver to get it going. Once you are done driving the screw, you must release the pleasure to stop the head from rotating. This led to the driver spinning in my hands when it the screw head, and I also found myself dropping it al ot because I did not want it to twist my wrist.

Two other things I would have liked to see added to this driver is an LED light for those darker areas, and at the least a pocket/belt clip to hang this on your person.

Other than those small issues, I really do enjoy using this driver as it saves me a ton of time and ergonomic issues. You also get eight (8) bits that come with this tool, and they stay held in the driver very secure as it has a magnetic tip.
