Ryobi introduces three new impact driver bit sets for an affordable price

Ryobi just launched its new line of metal impact bits which come in the size of 8 piece, 18 piece and 44 piece.

Ryobi will be the first to admit that their previous bits left a lot to be desired, but with new line, the verdict is in.... there much better. 

The eight piece set offers a few different types of bits both 2" and 3/12" long.

These bits include

(1) 2” square bit

(2) 3 ½” Phillips

(1) 3 1/2” Square bit

(1) 3 ½” Torx Bit

There is no slotted head bit in this set, but I do wish they would have added one.

The Next size up is the 18 piece bit set. This set gives a lot more variety for only a dollar or two more, and comes with a hard case that is compatible with the Ryobi Dock-it storage system.

Quality

After using these over and over in the garage, I was impressed with just how well they held up. The outer coating did begin to rub off a bit after some use, but the bit's form stayed intact and kept driving screws one after another.   

As for the socket adaptors that come with the 44 piece set, they held up very well against lug nuts and larger bolts that I drove into a treated 4x4. Not one bit broke on me, and even it one did, the set's price point incredibly low.

Final summary,

I have to say that I would have been much happier if the coating would have stayed on the bits, but other than that, they held up to everything we put them through. The price alone makes these bit worth the time to try them, and the variety you get in the case is perfect for anyone looking to purchase their first set, or expand their bit collection. That in itself would be great, but the added hard case that comes with the 18/44 piece is an added bonus.
