Ryobi Releases their 18-Volt ONE+ 15K BTU Hybrid Forced Air Propane Heater P3180 . (Here is our review)

The Ryobi 18V Hybrid Propane Heater can be powered by a battery or electrical cord.

RYOBI just released their all new the 18-Volt ONE+ 15K BTU Air Propane Heater. The new heater delivers up to 15,000 BTUs of heat output which is not even close to the RIDGID propane heater that we reviewed, but still does a nice job keeping you warm on those blistering cold days. .

Because the heater only warms the area of about 450 sq f, it’s not one of those heaters that will heat a two car garage on its own, but instead can be used to heat someone standing directly in front of it.
Tailgating, smaller work areas or just trying to take out the chill, this heater works well, but it’s not designed for much more than that really.

What’s really cool about this heater is that it is a hybrid style heater, meaning that it allows you to use either an 18-Volt RYOBI battery or extension cord. It’s only 9 lbs., and runs off of a 1 lb. propane tank (sold separately). This allows it to be allows transported easily, and can be used by anyone because of how light it is.

Now because this only accepts a 1 lb. propane bottle, it’s probably not the best solution for someone that is looking for a constant use heater. You’re really only looking at1 .5 hours of heating when using a 1 lb. propane tank, and 5 hours using the P108 4.0 Ah Battery. That being said, it would be great for not only some of the activities listed above, but camping and other similar uses would be perfect.

As for ease of use, all you have to do is plug in your cord or battery, press the on/off button, then push the button with the flame on it. It’s instant heat, and takes absolutely no effort. Once you get warmed up, just press the on/off button again and it will shut off immediately. Every time we ran this, it was extremely quiet and really had no issue with moisture/condensation in the air. We also did not notice any bad smells in the air while it was operating

All in all, you have to run this in small areas, or stand/sit directly in front of it to get the heat you need to keep warm, but if that is what you are looking for, it works great. Just remember to keep a window or door cracked to get enough ventilation in the area to prevent injury or death from harmful fumes.
