When I began working in the body shop right after high
school, I would go to Sears just about every other day to pick up one or two
Craftsmen tools for my tool box, but those days are long gone. As I no longer
due body work, Sears no longer carries the Craftsmen brand. Lowes picked up the
Craftsmen tool line in early 2018, but the Home Depot had an answer to this in
the name of Husky Tools.
We took a look at two different Husky tool sets 268 piece mechanics
hand tool set (Model# H268MTS) and the 64 piece 1/2” impact set (Model #
H64IMPS). The first set we looked at was the 268 piece mechanics set. It already
had over 800 raving reviews
on the Home Depot site, but we wanted to take a
look to see what all the hype was about.
Both sets come with a heavy duty hard case which was a pleasant
surprise. Everything was organized neatly and even had markings for each piece marked
in the box. Each case also has heavy duty latches that helps keep your tools
secure while inside.
The tools were built exceptionally well. The impact sockets
are covered in black oxide, and are extremely heavy duty, and the mechanics set
are chrome finish and built with the same quality. Not only was the quality
there, they looked absolutely beautiful. Both sets have a beautiful shine to
them, and scream professional grade!
As for feel, the mechanics set wrenches and ratchets were
perfectly contoured to the hand. There’s a smoothness to the ratchets that you
don’t see with a lot of other brands, and I was shocked with how well they performed.
I would have given anything to have tools like these back in the day.

We were blown away with both the Husky Mechanics tool set
and the ½” impact set. Because of the quality of these tools, and the
unbeatable hassle free lifetime warranty on these Husky tools, Tool Review Zone
is giving Husky the best pick for hand tools in 2018.
